Construction of a Public Toilet by the Local Community Group(Community Contractor).

The Construction of a Public Toilet at Meeting hall was completed on 3rd March (as per the Community Contract Agreement drawn between the Gewog and the Community Group to complete it on 3rd March beginning the work from the 3rd January) by the Neymedsa Group, a local community Group. The Gewog Administration after being endorsed by all the GT (Gewog Tshogdu) members on 20th December, 2014 decided to award the works in the chewogs and villages of the Gewog for the Community having the Community’s direct Participation and also to have a direct sense of ownership of the infrastructures and more importantly is to have good quality of the works and the limited time period for the works to complete it for the fiscal year 2013-2014.
It was also of the adverse records with the Gewog Administration of the commercial contractors for the Past Fiscal year 2012-2013 of whom some contractors failed to complete the work on given time period despite their undertakings and some not being able to complete its rectifications.
The Community Contractor namely Mr.Tshewang Dorji Sherpa was the Chairman of the Group with other four members in a group. The Estimation amount/cost (engineer’s estimation) amounted to Nu. 204000(two lakhs four Thousand) yet the approved budget was of Nu.188000 (one lakh eighty eight thousand) only of which the Group negotiated to work for the approved budget-one such procedure in the community Contracting Protocol-E;-Negotiation of the Contract.

CELEBRATION OF INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY IN TSIRANG


The International Women’s Day was celebrated on 8th March in Tsirang Municipal Hall. The them for was 'Equality for women is progress for all'. The programme was organsied by the volunteers of Tsirang Dzongkhag.  The Regional AAG (Assistant Auditor General) and Dasho Dzongrab were the chief guest for the Program.

All the volunteers/members of RENEW and others within Tsirang Dzongkhag were invited to witness the celebration of Women's day. Volunteers made presentations and shared their experiences on women's empowerment to the business community and to the housewives too. 

Officer incharge of RBP also made the Bhutan Penal Code of Bhutan and the cases of domestic violence in Tsirang Dzongkha. There was also a screening of short video clips of RENEW.
There was also a nomination and selection of the Town RENEW Co-ordinator, Aum Tshering and the Police Camp Resident’s Women RENEW Co-ordinator, Aum Tashi Lham with the awarding of the Volunteer Badges by the Chief Guest along with the Thromdue Theumi and Thromdue Tshogpa who were the Volunteers of RENEW. 

There was also a selection of the Dzongkhag Co-ordinator, Dzongkhag Election Officer namely Kezang Tshomo and the Dzongkhag Census Officer as a Volunteer. Later after the program there was a distribution of the Stickers to all the participants of the day.
The Refreshment with Tea and Momos were also served to all the participants and volunteers.
