The Construction of Farm road at lower Shamdolay of Shamdolay Chewog, Tashiding Gewog which began from 13th March was completed on 27th March benefiting nine households of Lower Shamdolay village. The farm road was about 1200 meters and it was done from the Dzongkhag Excavator with the fueling provided from the allotted budget of Nu.3,20,000 (three lakhs twenty thousand) of the GDG (Gewog Development Grant) for the fiscal year of 2017-2018.
The fuel was reached at site by the Gewog Bolero in Barrels and the farm road was with the first cutting excavation and the the leveling.
However not having the drainage, Gewog instructed the Beneficiaries for the need to construct an earthen drain so that there is a continuous flow of water during the summer season.
 It was also one such prioritized activity of the Gewog having endorsed by the GT (Gewog Tshogdu) earlier.
The farmers of this village mainly grow cash crops like Ginger and Just two weeks earlier one of the beneficiaries whom is also a chairperson of the newly formed Group of this farm road or the RUG(Road User Group) namely Yeshi sold more than 700 Kilograms of Ginger.
“We are happy to get the road” says Yeshi, a Chairperson of the Road with a smile on his face.

Khuru Tournament



The Khuru tournament amongst the Chewogs of the Gewog was held from 16th of March, 2019 and was organized by the Gewog office .It was with the aim to enhance community vitality apart of the preservation of the traditional games and sports.
There were a total of eight teams and the teams reaching final were the upper Tashiding and lower Tashiding, the final match was played on 17thMarch at Gewog Center.

 The chief guest was the Senior Dzongkhag Livestock officer and he briefed on the importance of such game to be conducted in Gewog, the need to maintain the culture of playing such games amongst the people of the Gewog and more importantly was that it was one Pillar of the GNH,Preservation of culture and tradition.

The prizes were also awarded to the highest shots (Kareys), highest Dhobjey, all team captains and also to the Tshogpas for their appreciation of the roles as committee members and helping the Coordinator in conducting such tournament at Gewog.
The teams having reached to semifinals were also given a packet of sweets.
The refreshments and lunch was also given to all the people present, guests and the participants.
The programme ended with the Tashi Labey dance by all the people present on this day.
