New Farm Road Inaugurated in Menji Gewog under Lhuentse Dzongkhag

       

                        Inauguration by Hon'ble Agriculture Minister

Length of 6 kilometer new farm road construction from Chusa to Amdrang village has been inaugurated by Hon'ble Minister of Agriculture and forestry on 3^rd January, 2015. Officials from Dzongkhag and Gewog Administration, also general public attended during the Inauguration.

Gewog Development Grant amounting to Nu. 0.300 Million (Three hundred thousand only) will be spend for this farm road construction after deliberate discussion in Gewog Tshogde meeting held in 23^rd July, 2014. Farm road construction will be carried out with hiring machinery in hourly basis as per the comparative statement of Dzongkhag Administration, Lhuentse.

Amdrang village is the only village left without farm road amongst 12. There are 14 household with total population of 85 residing in the village and it is 4 hours walk from the geog centre.

After the completion of this road, gewog administration is hopeful that people would generate income from their farm production and reduce gewog level poverty rate.

black topping of Khoma Gewog Centre Road Inuagurated

Black topping of Gewog Centre Road inuagurated

Blacktopping of 5.5 Kilometers Khoma Gewog centre road was inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister of Agriculture and Forest Yeshi Dorji on 4^th January, 2015. It was attended by Dzongkhag officials, Department of Road officials, Gewog Administration and general public of Khoma Gewog.

Project was funded by Government of India (Small Development Project). Blacktopping of GC road will complete by end of May 2015 at the cost of  Nu.1,04,10,000(One crore forty one lacs).

 Khoma Gewog centre road is the first Gewog to be black top amongst the eight Gewogs in Lhuentse Dzongkhag. Chief Engineer of Department of Road (DoR), Lingmethang informed the gathering that soon they will black top the two Gewogs centres roads,Kurtoe Gewog  and Gangzoor Gewog.
