The Other side of Development

Phuntshopelri Geog, popularly known as Gomtu, under Samtse Dzongkhag is one among 205 geogs gifted with with rich mineral deposits. Besides two giant cement plants, phuntshopelri Geog also known for several other stone and dolomite quarries.

With the coming up of a lot of industries, factories and Quarries, the inhabitants living there somehow feel very fortunate as it created better opportunities to earn cash income which otherwise would have been difficult, considering the close proximity of the indian states. As india produces a far more cheaper     goods than the bhutanese counterparts, the competition would have been unimaginable had there been no market to consume those manpower.
